On Monday 6th July, Waterfront attended the annual District Athletics Championships with our largest team ever!
Despite the extremely hot conditions, our pupils represented the school brilliantly throughout the day. It was fantastic to see them competing with determination while also enjoying the opportunity to meet and interact with students from other schools.
Many of our athletes were competing at the event for the first time, and the effort, resilience and positive attitude they showed were outstanding. Several pupils volunteered to take part in events simply to ensure Waterfront gained valuable points, demonstrating excellent teamwork and commitment.
There were some particularly notable performances on the day:
- Mason produced a fantastic run in the 1500m, finishing in an impressive 4th place.
- Adrian won his 100m heat and progressed to the final, where he finished 5th overall.
- LW stepped in at the last minute to compete in the shot put and went on to secure an excellent silver medal.
- MF delivered a superb performance in the javelin, earning a well-deserved gold medal.
Overall, it was a fantastic day filled with energy, enthusiasm and great sporting spirit. A huge congratulations to every member of the team for representing Waterfront so positively. We are incredibly proud of you all!
