Absence

On the rare occasion that your child is unwell you must telephone Waterfront UTC as early as possible to inform us that they will be absent by calling 01634 505800. If a telephone call is not received the UTC will contact you to ensure your child is safe and request the reason for absence.

Medical Care

During the UTC day, if your child feels unwell or has an accident they must tell a teacher straight away.  They will then be assessed by an appropriate member of staff.

If your child is too unwell to remain at the UTC or if hospital treatment is necessary, the UTC will contact you to make suitable arrangements.

If parents have concerns, they are to contact reception: 01634 505800.

Waterfront UTC understands the need for pupils to take medication from time to time, however it is in Waterfront UTC’S Policy that only prescribed medication is permitted. These are stored securely in reception. Under no circumstances will children be allowed to carry non-prescribed medicines or be issued them by staff members.

Parent Pay

Waterfront UTC operates a cashless catering system on site.

All students are issued with an access ID card. This card is used to pay for food and drinks in the refectory and money can be topped up either online or using one of the top-up machines in the refectory area.

In order to pay for school dinners online, parents can top-up student ID cards via Parent Pay with their designated username and password provided to them by the school.

ParentPay is the market leader in online payment for schools. They provide online payments, income management and dinner money administration for schools, authorities and caterers.

If you have any difficulties logging in please contact us on office@waterfront-that.org.uk or 01634 505800

Travel

For students travelling to Waterfront UTC, all transport arrangements are to be made by parents and students.

Car

If you’re travelling by car, Waterfront UTC has a designated drop off area inside the school premises. Students are not to park in the UTC’s designated car park.

Bus

You can plan your journey to Waterfront UTC by using Arriva’s online Journey Planner by searching Gillingham ASDA or Gillingham Purser Way as your destination.

Train

Unfortunately, the trains don’t take students directly to the UTC, however Gillingham train station is a 10/15 minute walk. If a student is getting the train to Chatham, they will then need to get on a bus to the UTC in time for 8.25.

Bike

We provide a bicycle stand outside the school entrance. Waterfront UTC are not responsible for any damage, or loss of your bicycle, keys or locks.
