School Games Gold Mark

We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games GOLD Mark Award for the 2024/25 academic year!

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

Our sporting achievements this year include:

  • 98-100% kit record and participation in PE
  • More pupils attending clubs than any other year
  • Termly competitions for sport including two inclusive Sports Days at the end of the academic year
  • 2nd in Medway Basketball years 9/10
  • First time entries for the school in District Athletics, Dodgeball and Orienteering
  • Champions of Kin-Ball
  • Gold medal runner in District Athletics

Competing in local inter-school competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.

As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.

A special thanks to:

  • The staff who help run clubs and fixtures
  • Lauramy Shipping Ltd for sponsoring our first ever official Sports Kit
  • Parents and Pupils for getting onboard with the PE overhaul and for allowing their children to compete or attend clubs
  • The Senior Leadership Team for allowing Mr Clarke the freedom to transform PE and Sport
  • Parents for their kind donations of gym equipment and spare kit - without your generosity some of this would simply not be possible
  • Claire Moore our SGO for all her support and guidance

We look forward to applying once again in 2026!
