Celebrating Diwali

On the 4th November Hindus all over the World including the UK celebrated, Diwali (the festival of lights), the largest and most celebrated festival on the Hindu Calendar. During their PSHRE lessons our students learnt about the origins, significance and rituals associated with celebrating Diwali. The festival symbolises the victory of good over evil, knowledge over ignorance and light over darkness. Students watched a video produced by the Swaminarayan Hindu Temple in Neasden, London, (Europe's first traditional Hindu stone temple) which outlined how the Hindu Community in the UK celebrate Diwali.
